Charlize Theron in Dio// Rachel McAdams in August Getty Atelier// Lady Gaga in Brandon Maxwell// Saoirse Ronan in Calvin Klein//
These 4 ladies were my absolute favorite of the night. Charlize wowed in this red hot, plunging V, body hugging gown. She definitely stole the show with this number! Rachel McAdams stunned with this emerald green dress. She kept the neckline high but showed off her legs with a thigh slit. Lady Gaga is known for her unique gowns but she channeled her inner Marilyn Monroe for last night's awards. Custom made it's a strapless pant dress! Yep there's pants under there but you wouldn't even know. Lastly, Saoirse showed off her pride for her country, Ireland, in an emerald, deep V, sequined stunner. The color is gorgeous on her with her blonde hair and fair skin, 10s across the board.
Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton// Cate Blanchett in Armani// Chrissy Teigan in Marchesa// Jennifer Lawrence in Dior//
Embellishments were a big trend that we kept seeing all night long. Starting off with Alicia Vikander in this gorgeous yellow high low dress she reminds of the Disney's Belle. Cate Blanchett mixing whimsical, floral and pastels in this beautiful baby blue Armani gown. It's not too overwhelming but just right. Chrissy Tegian glowing with her baby bump in this stuuuuning crimson and nude Marchesa gown. Seriously, I want to look like her when I'm pregnant. Showing up fashionably late J-Law but for good reason she wows in a black and nude layered lace Dior number.
Brie Larson in Gucci// Jennifer Garner in Versace// Sofia Vergara in Marchesa// Mindy Kaling in Elizabeth Kennedy//
Blues and black were two color combos that kept popping up on the Red Carpet. Hollywood's new 'It' girl and Best Actress winner Brie Larson stepped out in this gorgeous cobalt Gucci number. I'm not a huge fan of the draping of the skirt but I love the color and the embellished belt. Jennifer Garner didn't let her break up with Ben Affleck phase her as she stuns in a black one shoulder Versace gown. You go Jen! Newly married Sofia Vergara chose a navy, strapless Marchesa gown to attend and present with. Simple but stunning. And lastly, Mindy Kaling donned a black and cobalt curve hugging gown with a 3 foot long train *insert raising hands emoji*
Amy Poehler in Andew Gn// Reese Witherspoon in Oscar de la Renta// Kate Winslet in Ralph Lauren// Kerry Washington in Atelier Versace//
With the good also comes the not so good but surprisingly I only had a handful of misses on the Red Carpet. First is Amy Poehler with this Andew Gn gown. I don't even know where to begin..... is it a dress? A tapestry? A couch cover? I adore Reese and she usually stuns in bright colors but this dress did not do it for me. I wasn't a fan of the color or the style. The bosom area was just not right and the material looked cheap. Kate Winslet showed up with longtime friend Leo Dicaprio and the Internet went wild. Her dress on the other hand looks like silicone or rubber. Like the rubber man character of of AHS the first season. Not a flattering look in my opinion but hey can't please everyone. Finally Kerry Washington stepped out as a gladiator in this Atelier Versace leather and white gown. I loved the high slit, her makeup, hair, jewelry but I just wasn't a fan of the leather bodice and skirt strap look at the waist.
Now on to the dapper gentlemen of the evening!
Eddie Redmayne in Alexander McQueen// Chris Rock in Burberry// Jacob Tremblay in Armani// Finn Wittrock in Prada// Michael B. Jordan in Ralph Lauren// Leonardo Dicaprio in Armani//
Then men suited up for the biggest night in Hollywood and looked as handsome as ever! Eddie Redmayne up for his second Oscar donned a velvet jacket and loafers for the occasion not complete without his signature smile. Host, Chris Rock, opted for a white tuxedo and smashed it along with the #OscarsSoWhite hashtag with his hilarious yet truthful opening monologue. The little boy who made the world fall in love Jacob Tremblay wore a tiny version to his counterparts made by Armani, but not without his Star Wars accessories. Did you guys see him trying to get a better look when C3P0, R2D2 AND BB-8 came out?! He is the most precious little human! Okay back on track, Finn Wittrock wore the traditional but oh so sharp in a black tux. Creed star, Michael B. Jordan presented with Rachel McAdams with a closed lapel tux from Ralph Lauren. They were one of the best dressed presenters of the night. Who were your favorite? Last, but most certainly not least Leo finally got his moment after decades of being nominated he now is the proud owner of that little gold man. For this momentous occasion he wore an Armani suit.
Sylvester Stallone in unknown// Mark Ruffalo in Valentino// Aaron Rodgers in unknown and Olivia Munn in Stella McCartney//
Keeping with the ladies the men of the Oscar's also worked the blue and black combo which can be seen by these three celebs. Rocky Balboa was back at the Oscar's and unfortunately took a humble defeat in the Best Supporting Actor category but did it in style wearing a navy and black tux. I'm not a huge navy and black fan but he pulled it off effortlessly. Mark Ruffalo took home an Oscar for Best Picture for Spotlight in a Valentino blue and black jacket. The blue complimented his wife's gold detail of her dress. Finally Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers wore a navy tux with a black bowtie and shoes. Girlfriend Olivia Munn wowed with this coraly orange one shoulder simple gown. Anyone else know they were a thing cause I didn't!
So there you have it! My picks of best and worst dressed at the Oscar's! My favorite moments were the montage spoofing the Best Picture nominees, Lady Gaga's breathtaking and spinechilling performance, Jacob Tremblay being the absolute cutest while presenting, Brie Larson and Alicia Vikanker winning and of course, Leo getting his Oscar.
What were your favorite moments from the night? Who were your best and worst dressed? Leave me a comment sharing!
I'll see you guys next year!
