Sorry, Justin Bieber fans, but the Biebs is no longer performing "Despacito," even though he is featured on a remix of the song — and one fan is not taking this refusal well.
An audience member shared a video from Justin's June 10 set at the Summerburst Festival in Stockholm, where the singer is seen explaining to the crowd why he won't be singing the song, when all of a sudden, an audience member chucks a mysterious object at the singer's head. Not cool.
"I can't do that specifically, I don't know the words...I can't do it," Justin is heard telling the crowd about the chart-topping song, according to Hollywood Life. Luckily, Justin managed to duck out of the way before the unidentified object could harm him. There is no word on whether the person who threw the object was removed from the concert.
Justin has had quite the relationship with "Despacito." After Luis Fonsi (who sings the original song) released a remix featuring Justin, heard singing in both English and Spanish on the track, the Biebs was embroiled in backlash when he forgot the words to the song during a live performance, and filled in the blanks with "blah blah blahs." The moment sparked a necessary conversation regarding the exploitation of the Latinx community in the music industry.
Given that Justin has already offended people by singing words like "burrito" and "poquito" rather than the lyrics, perhaps he made the right call in refusing to perform the song live again.
