My Experience with Essence My Must Haves Lip Powder Take The Lead:
The product comes in a tiny, flat, plastic pan with a transparent lid. With these pans, you can create your own palette. The plastic cap closes well but it is not the most convenient and travel friendly option as it can accidentally open in a bag. The pan is also prone to breakage if it falls accidentally.
Essence My Must Haves Lip Powder Take The Lead has a powdery texture. It is very soft and doesn’t crumble. The texture is very much like that of a compact powder. Essence My Must Haves Lip Powder Take The Lead is a beautiful bright pink color. Pink shades look pretty on all skin tones and that’s why I picked it up. You could also use Vaseline or a thick lip balm to get the color onto the lips. You can use a brush or your fingers to apply the lip powder. I usually tap the color onto my lips using my fingers.
The lip powder when used alone doesn’t adhere well onto the lips and that’s why using a base is mandatory. When used with the Essence base, it lasts for around 4-5 hours without any issue and when used in conjunction with a lip balm, it stays on for around 3 hours. The product doesn’t bleed but using a good lip liner can help in drawing the lips with precision because you cannot get good precision, especially near the corners of the lips with this product alone.
Essence My Must Haves Lip Powder Take The Lead does settle into lip creases, so exfoliating the lips prior to application is mandatory. Since it is a powder product, the chances of it transferring is also very high. You can use the powder on top of your regular lipsticks to increase the longevity of the lip color. The product can be easily used for multitasking. I could use this color as a blush, eyeshadow, as well as a lipstick – it will work as an all-in-one product. It doesn’t leave any stain and is very easy to remove as well. When using it with a finger, you need to wash your hands with hand wash to remove the stain. Overall, I like this lip powder. I have tried a few shades and I absolutely love the concept.
