Happy Manicure Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend - it's been so cold here, so we spent our weekend just prepping for Valentine's Day by baking cookies and making hot chocolate bombs to keep ourselves busy inside!
The OPI polishes were received as PR samples - this post contains affiliate links
I'm not a traditional Valentine's Day lover, but I'm a total sucker for good Valentine's cards and funny quips! So, even though I don't love the lovey dovey part of the holiday, I do love some parts of it, and the jokes and puns are a big part of what I love!
What's more perfect for this year's theme than Baby Yoda?! Grogu is a stand out over the past year, so naturally he is perfect for my Valentine's nails this year - I would 100% give out cards like this! (My older son has given out Yoda One For Me Valentine's before and my younger son was supposed to Grogu Valentine's this year, but sadly their daycare can't do Valentine's this year because of covid!)
The products that I used for this week's manicure are:
- OPI Infinite Shine Primer
- Morgan Taylor polish in Just One Bite
- Smackers Nail Polish in Wickedly Stylish
- ORLY Instant Artist polish in Jet Black
- L.A. Color Art Club polish in Red on Red
- OPI Polish in How Does Your Zen Garden Grow?
- OPI Infinite Shine Gloss
- Pearl Planet Baby Yoda Waterslide Nail Decals
I also used a nail dotting tool and a nail art brush for this manicure!
This manicure was so fun to do! Here's how I did each nail for the manicure:
- For the pinky nail, we started with two coats of white polish as the base polish, then using the red polish, I dotted on two dots and used the nail art brush to paint on a heart. Then, using the green polish with a nail art brush, I created the light saber and the black nail art polish to create the handle.
- The ring finger was easy, I painted on two coats of red nail polish!
- For the middle finger, I started with two coats of white polish for the base. Then using both the black and red nail art polishes, I hand painted each letter on "BABY, YODA ONE 4 ME" and finished with a little heart painted on with a dotting tool and nail art brush.
- For the pointer finger, I started again with two coats of the white polish for the base polish. Then, I used the water decals from Pearl Planet and placed a Grogu in the middle of the nail. I added on hearts with the same technique used on all the other nails!
- For the thumb, I started with two coats of white polish as the base. Then, I used the red polish and painted on a big heart!
Then, I finished all the nails with two coats of top coat!
As always, make sure to check out Cosmetic Proof and Prairie Beauty Love to see their nails too!
