I have mad love for Whistles. Which I thought I'd never admit to. But since Jane Shepardson took over (she of Topshop fame) she has made the brand into a fantastic place for simple yet desirable classics. but Whistles have really done it this time. Introducing the Carrie skirt above and the Erica skirt below. This is the skirt of the season. The one that you can't get in London for love nor money apparently because every fashionista worth their Jimmy Choos got there first. According to one website, some stores have a waiting list because the store didn't see the rush coming and didn't produce enough of them. But never fear! They have since released their mistake and are producing more as we speak.
What makes the Carrie/Erica skirt so successful is that it taps into a few trends at once :1 - Pleats
2 - The Ballerina look (as started by the film 'Black swan')
3 - The two shades : Taupe and hot pink
4 - The mid length
The skirt comes in two colors and also two lengths. You can go mid length (below the knee) and above the knee as well. It's a fantastic way of doubling your wardrobe - if you are lucky enough to actually get one........
